Designer and Dutch Masterpainter Paul Bartels became part of the Suit’d Suits development team for ceramics. He looks after the usage and development now from arts and crafts involved in this beautiful tactile but difficult material.
From January 2017 and onwards Paul Bartels (1951) joined the Suit’d Suits team as an artistic specialist. Bartels is a retired Masterpainter – one of the few in The Netherlands, who now makes the designs for the hand painted Delft Blue decorations, and related items. We are very happy to have him on board, keeping the precious and worldfamous Delft Blue crafting technique and artistic development safe for many years yet to come.
With Bartels in the team we were able to expand our product lines and still offering the constant high quality genuine made Delft Blue. Bartels started working at Royal Delft (Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles Anno 1653) in 1968 (retired in 2016) and can be seen as a great artist and mentor, who trained and educated several painters, among his work as a highly skilled painter. He made plates, vases and many other ceramic objects. Besides working for Suit’d Suits he is also now educating about the techniques, by giving courses to whomever is interested.
